



ACE stands for Accredited Circus Examinations - a brand-new, nationally recognised syllabus created to raise the standards of circus training in the UK. It provides a clear, structured pathway for students to develop strength, flexibility, artistry, and confidence.
ACE exams are open to circus students of all ages and abilities who train with a teacher who has attended our in person exam training session. Our first syllabus focuses on Aerial Hoop Grades 1–3, with additional apparatus launching soon. The first training session for teachers in on the 3rd January 2026.
Our first teacher training is in January 2026. Registration is now live for schools who wish to join the first accredited cohort.
Students are assessed on technique, strength, flexibility, control, performance quality, and safety awareness. Each grade has clear criteria and progress markers so every student understands what’s required to move forward.
ACE examiners are experienced circus professionals and qualified educators who have undergone strict training to ensure consistent, fair, and encouraging assessments.
Yes - successful candidates receive an official ACE Certificate of Achievement and medal, celebrating their progress and confirming their accredited grade, alongside UCAS points for grades 5+.
Studios can apply for ACE School Accreditation by attending an in person teacher training day to learn the aerial grades. Membership to ACE includes training, syllabus access, and support materials. Approval ensures all teachers meet the highest safety and teaching standards for these accredited exams.
ACE is working in partnership with industry experts and education specialists to align with national standards for performing arts and sport-related qualifications. We are woking with Ofqual to become accredited and able to award UCAS points for higher grades.
In order to be competent to run this syllabus you need to have done at least a one day training course in aerial before your commence your training with us, this can be arranged through us too and will be taking place on the 2nd January 2026.
